The NYIT-Vancouver campus features computer labs, student lounges, and a distance-learning centre. It is located in the middle of the downtown city centre, close to the corporate head offices of companies in the finance, banking, mining, service sector, natural resources, and information technology industries. Because of the school's small class sizes, students have the opportunity to participate in internships, practicums, and mentoring programmes at some of the region's most prestigious commercial and financial companies.
Middle States Commission on Higher Education in the United States has granted New York Institute of Technology accreditation for its academic programmes.
A global accreditation that incorporates all of NYIT's business programmes around the world, including the one in Vancouver, is held by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). This accreditation was awarded to the School of Management.
The Ministry of Advanced Education in British Columbia, Canada, has granted NYIT authorization, and the institution is included on the list of EQA-designated post-secondary schools in that province.
