UNIVERSITY OF SURREY

Publicly funded research at the University of Surrey can be found at Guildford, which is located in the county of Surrey in England. As a result of the suggestions contained in the Robbins Report, the university, along with a number of other institutions, was granted its royal charter in the year 1966. This educational establishment formerly went by the name Battersea College of Technology and had its home base in the London neighbourhood of Battersea Park. However, its origins may be traced back to Battersea Polytechnic Institute, which was established in 1891 with the intention of providing residents of London, particularly the city's lower-income residents, with access to further and higher education. Because of the university's extensive research and its global collaborations, it is now considered to be one of the most prestigious research institutions in the United Kingdom.
