Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is home to the University of Pennsylvania, a prestigious private research institution that is a member of the Ivy League. The University of Pennsylvania has an endowment of $20.7 billion, which places it among the wealthiest academic institutions in the world. The university's research budget for 2019 was $1.02 billion.
