UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA

Grand Forks, North Dakota is home to the public research university that is known as the University of North Dakota. It was founded in 1883 by the Dakota Territorial Assembly, which was six years prior to the creation of North Dakota as a state. The university is home to North Dakota's only law and medical schools, making it the most comprehensive educational institution in the state. The John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences was the first institution in the United States to give students the opportunity to earn a degree in the operation of unmanned aircraft systems. There are a number of national research institutions located on the campus of the university. These institutions include the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Energy and Environmental Research Center, and the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center. It is categorised as an R2 university, which stands for "Doctoral Universities - High Research Activity." The National Science Foundation places the University of North Dakota at the #151 spot on their ranking.
