The university is comprised of five distinct academic colleges: the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; the College of Education, Health, and Human Studies; and the College of Arts and Media at the Holland College of Arts and Media. The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks are the name given to all thirteen of the university's athletic teams, all of which are members of the Ohio Valley Conference and compete in the NCAA Division I.
