LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY

St. Charles, Missouri is home to Lindenwood University, a private institution of higher learning. It was originally known as The Lindenwood School for Girls and was established in 1827 by George Champlin Sibley and Mary Easton Sibley. Today, it is the second-oldest institution of higher learning located west of the Mississippi River. Through its nine different colleges and schools, Lindenwood University confers degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Its enrollment was 6,992 students in 2021. The primary residential and academic campus spans an area of 500 acres (202.3 ha) and is situated 24 miles (39 km) to the northwest of St. Louis, Missouri, in the city of St. Charles.
