OAKLAND CITY UNIVERSITY

In Oakland City, Indiana, a private university called Oakland City University (OCU) belongs to the General Baptist Church. It is the only college or university linked with the General Baptist Church in the country. Since its founding in 1885, it has slowly expanded to its current student population of 1,200 on the main campus and 2,000 other locations. The Evansville, Indianapolis, Rockport, and Bedford universities satellite campus university has satellite campuses, and their flagship campus is in Oakland City. The old corporate offices of the Indiana Limestone Company now serve as the Bedford branch.
