Mount Royal University is in environmentally friendly buildings and high-tech university grounds in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and is a public university. It became a university soon after being granted a charter in 1910 by the Alberta government. Mount Royal University is in the traditional territories - of Niitshitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the 7 Treaty region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Piikani, the Siksika, the Kainai, the Lyarhe Nakoda, and the Tsuut'ina. MRU's campus has state-of-the-art classrooms and outstanding recreation facilities, a fantastic world-class concert hall, recreation facilities, impressive residences, and award-winning eco-buildings. Mount Royal University provides many supports and services to students, including; Food and Drink Options On-Campus, Cougars Campus Store, Riddel Library and Learning Centre, Recreation's 40 ft climbing wall, Wellness Services, and the MRU Injury & Prevention Clinic. The university offers 37 degree courses, 11 certificate courses, seven diploma courses, 56 programs across its six faculties, six alternative entrance options, and five occupational diplomas and certificates. The Faculty of Arts teaches subjects; Justice, Economics, Policy Studies, English, Languages, Cultures, Humanities, Sociology and Anthropology, Interior Design, and Psychology. The Faculty of Business and Communication Studies consists of two schools, the School of Communication Studies and Bissett School of Business, and teaches subjects like; Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Management. The Faculty of Continuing Education and Extension teaches subjects like; Academic upgrading, arts, design, etc. The Faculty of Health, Community, and Education teach issues like; Child Studies, Education, Health, etc. The Faculty of Science and Technology teaches subjects like; Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.
