NORTHERN ALBERTA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada's Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is a polytechnic and applied sciences institution. To fulfil the needs of Alberta's technical and knowledge-based sectors, NAIT offers career programmes in applied research, technical training, applied education, and learning. About 120 credit programmes leading to degrees, applied degrees, diplomas, and certificates are available through NAIT. Around 16,000 students are engaged in credit programmes as of 2018, 12,000 apprentices are registered for apprenticeship training, 14,500 students are enrolled in non-credit courses, and more than 20,000 people have registered for customised corporate oriented training. International students from 94 nations attend NAIT as well. NAIT is comparable to a university of applied sciences or an institute of technology, as they are known in other jurisdictions. The NAIT Nugget, the campus newspaper, is a part of the Canadian University Press (CUP).
