Under the Alberta Post-Secondary Learning Act, Bow Valley College is a publicly funded, board-governed college that serves as a comprehensive community institution. Airdrie, Banff, Canmore, Cochrane, High River, Okotoks, and Strathmore are the locations of the branch campuses. The Alberta Rural Development Network and Colleges and Institutes Canada both recognise Bow Valley College as a member institution. The college provides year-round adult upskilling programmes, English language instruction, and career programmes leading to certificates, diplomas, and post-diploma certificates. Additionally, they provide career services and specialised services for immigrants to Canada.
