DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY

The Dakota State University, abbreviated as DSU, is a public institution of higher education located in Madison, South Dakota. The institution first opened its doors in 1881 as a normal school, also known as a school for the training of teachers. The state legislature decided in 1984 to add a signature mission of technology to the university in order to specialise in "programmes in computer management, computer information systems, and other related undergraduate and graduate programmes." Despite the fact that education is still the university's heritage mission, technology was chosen as the signature mission.
