Peterborough, Ontario is home to Trent University, a public liberal arts university. The university also has a campus in Oshawa, which is located in order to better serve the Regional Municipality of Durham. Trent University is well renowned for its small class sizes and its Oxbridge college structure. The majority of the day-to-day operations of Trent are handled by the university's colleges, which include Champlain, Lady Eaton, Catharine Parr Traill, Otonabee, and Peter Gzowski. Residence halls, dining halls, and student governments are all run independently at each individual college. The student government (Cabinet) and its committees work together with the College Office and the dons to plan and deliver a variety of events for the college's resident and non-resident members.
