STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK - PURCHASE

In Purchase, New York, there is a public liberal arts institution known as the State University of New York at Purchase (often known as Purchase College or SUNY Purchase). It is one of the State University of New York (SUNY) system's 13 comprehensive colleges. Governor Nelson Rockefeller established it in 1967 as "the cultural jewel of the SUNY system." Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Music (MusB), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Fine Arts (MFA), and Master of Music degrees are among those awarded by Purchase College (MM). Students must complete a senior project as part of their BA or BS degree requirements. They do this over the course of two semesters while working closely with a faculty mentor. Similarly, a senior exhibition, film, or recital marks the conclusion of the BFA and MusB courses. While MFA and MM programs end with exhibitions, recitals, or related presentations, master's degree programs end with theses.
