PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY

Privately owned and operated by Lutheran congregations, Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) is located in Parkland, Washington. In the year 1890, Norwegian Lutheran immigrants established the company. The 580 congregations that make up Region I of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are the ones responsible for sponsoring PLU. Approximately 3,100 students are currently enrolled at PLU. On the 156-acre (63 hectare) forested campus, the educational institution as of 2017 employed approximately 220 full-time professors. The colleges and schools that make up Pacific Lutheran University are as follows: the School of Arts and Communication; the School of Business; the School of Education and Kinesiology; the School of Nursing; and the College of Arts and Sciences, which is comprised of the Divisions of Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.
