ABOUT

In the city of Bristol, England, you'll find the red brick Russell Group research university known as the University of Bristol. It was granted its royal charter in 1909, but it can trace its origins back to a school for Merchant Venturers that was established in 1595 and to University College, Bristol, which had been operating continuously since 1876. The majority of Bristol's more than two hundred first-year classes are held in the Tyndalls Park neighbourhood, which is home to six of the university's academic colleges. These faculties are made up of various schools and departments. In the fiscal year 2020–21, the university brought in a total revenue of £752.0 million, with research grants and contracts accounting for £169.8 million of that amount. It is the organisation that employs the most people on its own in Bristol. Current academics include 44 fellows of the Royal Society, 13 members of the British Academy, 21 fellows of the Academy of Medical Sciences, and 13 fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering. In addition, there are 13 fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering. The university has produced a total of nine Nobel laureates throughout its faculty and graduates. Bristol is a member of the Russell Group of research-intensive British institutions, the European-wide Coimbra Group, and the Worldwide Universities Network. Bristol's former vice-chancellor, Eric Thomas, served as head of the Worldwide Universities Network from 2005 to 2007.

ACCOMODATION

The University of Bristol offers a variety of accommodation options for students, including halls of residence, self-catering apartments, and houses. Halls of residence are the most popular option for first-year students, and they offer a range of facilities, including shared kitchens, laundry facilities, and study spaces. Self-catering apartments and houses are a good option for students who want more independence, and they typically offer more space and privacy than halls of residence.
