The University of Suffolk is a public institution of higher education that can be found in both the county of Suffolk and the county of Norfolk in England. A novel partnership between the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex led to the establishment of the contemporary university in 2007, when it was given the name University Campus Suffolk (UCS). The institution's origins may be traced back to the formation of the partnership. After being granted independence in 2016 by the Privy Council and being given university status, the institution ultimately decided to change its name to its current moniker. Ipswich serves as the university's main campus, while additional campuses in Bury St. Edmunds, Lowestoft, and Great Yarmouth offer foundational studies. Together, these four locations make up the University of Suffolk. There are six academic faculties at this university, which had a total enrollment of 9,565 students in 2019/20.
