YORK ST JOHN UNIVERSITY

York St. John University, also known as York Diocesan College when it first opened its doors, is a public university in York, England that features a sizable urban campus. The university is commonly abbreviated as YSJ. It was founded in 1841 and did not become a university until 2006. In 2015, the institution was granted the authority to grant research degrees for PhD and doctoral programmes. It is a member of the Cathedrals Group of Universities and is one of the many educational establishments with religious origins that fall under the umbrella of higher education. In the academic year 2019/20, there were a total of 7,000 students enrolled across five schools: the School of the Arts; the School of Education, Language and Psychology; the School of Humanities; the School of Science, Technology and Health; and York Business School. These students were studying a wide range of topics.
