UNIVERSITY OF WALES TRINITY SAINT DAVID

The Institution of Wales Trinity Saint David is a multi-campus university that has its main campuses in Carmarthen, Lampeter, and Swansea. Additionally, the university has a campus in London, England, as well as learning centres in Cardiff, Wales, and Birmingham, England. Under the terms of Lampeter's royal charter from 1828, the University of Wales, Lampeter (UWL) and Trinity University College (TUC) merged into a single educational establishment in the year 2010, creating what is now known as the University of Wales. Lampeter was the first institution of higher learning in Wales. In 2011, it was announced that Trinity Saint David would also be absorbing the University of Wales into its existing operations. The university united with Swansea Metropolitan University on August 1st, 2013, making it one institution. King Charles III, in his previous role as Prince of Wales, served as the university's patron. R. Brinley Jones serves as the institution's President, and Medwin Hughes serves as the Vice Chancellor.
