1. The Roehampton Institute of Higher Education was created when four teacher training colleges from the 1800s merged. It got the name it has now in 2011, but its official name is Roehampton University, which was given to it in 2004. It is part of Universities UK and the European University Association. It is part of both the Cathedrals Group of Universities and the Compostela Group of Universities. 2. The university has four academic colleges with six departments and four schools that offer career-focused bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programmes. Students can get degrees in humanities, science, education, law, life sciences, psychology, business, performing arts, social sciences, media, cultural studies, creative writing, and English.
