Purdue University and the University of Indiana IUPUI is the usual abbreviation for the Institution of Indianapolis, which is a public research university located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Both Indiana University and Purdue University are partners in this educational initiative, which results in the awarding of undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees from both institutions. It is the primary urban research and academic health sciences institution in the state of Indiana. It is administered primarily through Indiana University as a core campus and partially through Purdue University as a regional campus. IUPUI may be found in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, in close proximity to both the White River and Fall Creek. The urban university offers more than 550 different degrees and is home to the primary campuses of the Indiana University School of Medicine, which has more than 2,000 students, as well as the Indiana University School of Dentistry, which is the only dental school in the state. Together, these two schools make up the Indiana University. In addition to being represented among the graduate schools, the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law is one of the two law schools that are affiliated with Indiana University. The Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington is the other law school affiliated with Indiana University. IUPUI is considered to be among the "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity" universities once the research budget of the IU School of Medicine is subtracted from its total. The IUPUI Jaguars are members of the NCAA's Division I Horizon League and compete against other teams in that league. The school is home to a number of athletics facilities, such as the IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium and the Indiana University Natatorium, which boasts the title of the largest indoor pool in the entire United States and can accommodate 4,700 spectators.
