BUTLER UNIVERSITY

Indianapolis, Indiana is home to the prestigious private university that is Butler University. The university was established in 1855 and was given its current name in honour of its founder, Ovid Butler. It is comprised of over 60 major academic fields of study that are spread across six colleges, including the Jordan College of the Arts, the Lacy School of Business, the College of Communication, the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The campus spans approximately 295 acres (119 ha) and is located approximately five miles (8.0 km) from the heart of Indianapolis.
