BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY

The Brigham Young University (BYU) is a private research university located in Provo, Utah. It is also sometimes referred to in a colloquial sense as "The Y." Religious figure Brigham Young initiated its establishment in 1875, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serves as its sponsoring organisation (LDS Church). BYU provides students with a wide range of educational opportunities, including studies in the liberal arts, engineering, agriculture, management, nursing, law, physical and mathematical sciences, and more. It offers 186 majors for undergraduate students, 64 for graduate students, and 26 for doctoral students. At its primary campus in Provo, it is broadly organised into 11 colleges or schools, with certain colleges and divisions defining their own admission standards. Additionally, the university oversees the operation of two satellite campuses, one in Jerusalem and the other in Salt Lake City. Additionally, the university's parent organisation, the Church Educational System (CES), sponsors sister schools in the states of Hawaii and Idaho. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities has granted the university's application for accreditation.
