UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA

The University of Arizona is a public land-grant research university in Tucson, Arizona. Founded in 1885 by the 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature, it was the first university in the Arizona Territory. The university is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity".

The University of Arizona offers over 350 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in over 150 fields of study. The university is home to 16 colleges and schools, including the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Medicine, and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

The University of Arizona is a member of the Association of American Universities, a group of 65 leading research universities in the United States and Canada. The university is also a member of the Big 12 Conference, a college athletic conference in the Western United States.
