ABOUT BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY
Bowling Green State University, also known simply as BGSU, is a public research institution that can be found in Bowling Green, Ohio. The primary residential and academic campus spans 1,338 acres (541.5 hectares) and is located 15 miles (24 kilometres) south of Toledo, Ohio. The university is home to research facilities and academic programmes that are highly regarded on a national scale. These areas include the natural and social sciences, education, the arts, business, health and wellness, the humanities, and applied technologies. The Lowry Normal School Bill, which authorised two new normal schools in the state of Ohio, resulted in the granting of a charter to the educational establishment in 1910 so that it could function as a normal school specialising in the education and training of teachers. It is a constituent institution of the University System in Ohio. In the course of its history, the university evolved from a modest rural normal school into a comprehensive public research university. This transformation took place over several decades.
