ABOUT MCGILL UNIVERSITY
McGill University is the city's oldest college. It is a public university that gets its name from a Scottish businessman named James McGill. He left $10,000 and his 46-acre Burnside Place estate on the side of Mount Royal to a trust so that a school could be built in his name. About 39,267 students will start at McGill University in the fall of 2021. There were 26,765 undergraduate students, 10,411 graduate students, 698 postdoctoral scholars, and 1,393 Residents and fellows. 30.8% of the students at McGill University were from outside the United States.
