Texas A&M University, also called Texas A&M, A&M, or TAMU, is a public land-grant research university in College Station, Texas. It was started in 1876, and in 1948, it became the most important school in the Texas A&M University System. As of Fall 2021, Texas A&M will have the most students in the U.S. Texas A&M is the only university in Texas to be a land, sea, and space grant institution at the same time. Texas A&M joined the Association of American Universities (AAU) in 2001.
