ABOUT MIDWESTERN UNIVERSITY - DOWNERS GROVE
Downers Grove, Illinois and Glendale, Arizona are both home to campuses of the private institution known as Midwestern University (MWU), which specialises in medical and professional education. There were a total of 2,987 students attending classes at the Downers Grove campus during the academic year 2020-21, whereas there were 3,902 students attending classes at the Glendale campus. The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine is the fourth-oldest medical school that is still in operation in the state of Illinois. It was established in 1900 as the American College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. The university grew over the years, adding new degrees and programmes; in 1993, the school unified these degrees and programmes under the name Midwestern University in order to better reflect its offerings. The school became the second and largest medical school to teach students in the state of Arizona when it opened a campus in the city of Glendale in the year 1995. Both the medical schools and the university have received accreditation from the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association. The university has received accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission.
