Washington University in St. Louis (WashU or WUSTL) is a private research university in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1853, it is named after George Washington, the first president of the United States. WashU is a highly selective university with a strong academic reputation. It is ranked #24 in the 2024 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best National Universities.

WashU is known for its undergraduate program, which offers a wide range of majors and minors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.
