ABOUT UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS - ARLINGTON

In the city of Arlington, Texas, there is a public institution of higher education known as the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA or UT Arlington). The school was established in 1895 and for the first several decades of its existence, it was a part of the Texas A&M University System. In 1965, however, it became a part of The University of Texas System. The university is categorised as a "R1: Doctoral University – Very high research activity," according to the Carnegie Classification. The university had an enrollment of 45,949 students during the fall semester of 2021, making it the largest university in North Texas and the fourth-largest in Texas overall. Over 180 baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degree programmes are available to students at UT Arlington, which makes it the third-largest producer of college graduates in the state of Texas. As a member of the Sun Belt Conference and the NCAA's Division I, the University of Texas at Arlington competes in 15 different intercollegiate sports. Since 1971, the University of Texas at Arlington's athletic teams have been referred to as the Mavericks.
