Private Jesuit institution Gonzaga University is located in Spokane, Washington. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities has accredited it. The university is named after the young Jesuit saint Aloysius Gonzaga and was established in 1887 by Joseph Cataldo, a priest and Jesuit missionary of Italian descent.
