ABOUT

The Parliament of New South Wales made the University of Wollongong (UOW) a reality in 1975, but the roots of the school go back to 1951. The UOW has five faculties: Engineering and Information Sciences, Law, Business, Science, Medicine and Health, Social Sciences, Humanities, and the Arts. It works with 180 countries around the world. Also, these faculties have a number of schools, such as the School of Accounting, the School of Economics and Finance, the School of Physics, and the School of Liberal Arts. More than 25,000 students and more than 2,000 staff work on the campus.

RANKINGS OF UNIVERSITY OF WOLLONGONG

UOW ranked 10th among Australian universities. A highlight of the result, which places UOW in the top 1 per cent of universities worldwide, was an exceptional achievement in the category of research citations (a measure of research quality), securing 74th place out of 1400 universities globally.
