UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA, LAS VEGAS

In the city of Paradise, Nevada, there is a public institution of higher education known as the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The Las Vegas Strip is approximately 1.6 miles (2.6 kilometres) to the east of the 332-acre (134-hectare) site. Between the years 1957 and 1969, it was a component of the University of Nevada system. It encompasses the Shadow Lane Campus, which is located immediately to the east of the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. On this campus are the Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine. The only law school in Nevada is the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). It falls under the category of "R1: Doctoral Universities - Very high research activity." According to the National Science Foundation, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) ranked 165th in the US in terms of the amount of money it spent on research and development in 2018.
