ABOUT SWANSEA UNIVERSITY
Swansea University is a public research institution that can be found in Swansea, which is in the country of Wales in the United Kingdom. In 1920, the institution was given its current name of University College of Swansea and became the University of Wales' fourth college overall. As a result of organisational shifts within the University of Wales, the institution underwent a rebranding in 1996, becoming known as the University of Wales Swansea. When the University of Wales transitioned to a non-membership confederal organisation on September 1, 2007, Swansea and the other previous members of the university all became universities in their own right, which is when Swansea University was officially given its name. The two campuses of Swansea University, which are situated on opposite sides of Swansea Bay, are home to the university's three academic departments. To the west of Swansea's city centre is where you'll find the Singleton Park Campus, which is located inside the park's grounds. The Bay Campus, which cost 450 million pounds to build and inaugurated in September 2015, can be found next to Jersey Marine Beach in the Neath Port Talbot district, which is located to the east of Swansea. According to the number of students enrolled there, it is the third largest university in Wales. There are around 20,375 students enrolled in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and the institution currently provides a total of 330 undergraduate courses and 120 postgraduate courses.
