ABOUT INDIANA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
The Indiana Institute of Technology, also known simply as Indiana Tech, is a prestigious private university located in Fort Wayne in the state of Indiana. It was originally known as Indiana Technical College and was established in 1930 by John A. Kalbfleisch, who also served as the institution's first president. The current structure of the university is comprised of five colleges. The university is renowned for its career-focused degree programmes, including those in the fields of business, engineering, computer science, education, and criminal justice, amongst others. The College of Professional Studies at Indiana Tech provides a variety of educational opportunities beyond the standard semester-long class structure, including accelerated degree programmes, online programmes, and more. Indiana Tech maintains regional classroom and enrollment centres in 13 locations in addition to its main campus in Fort Wayne. These locations include Elkhart, Evansville, Fishers, Greenwood, Huntington, Indianapolis, Jeffersonville, Kendallville, Mishawaka, Munster, and Warsaw in the state of Indiana; Louisville and Fort Wright in the state of Kentucky. In addition, Indiana Tech has two enrollment centres in the Chicago metropolitan area. These centres can be found in the cities of Naperville and Wilmette, Illinois. Both organised and intramural competitions among students constitute a significant component of the student life experience. NAIA is the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and Indiana Tech is a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference for all of its intercollegiate athletics. Indiana Tech fields eleven men's and eleven women's teams that compete in the NAIA.
