ABOUT HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY
A private institution, Hofstra University can be found in the New York borough of Hempstead. It is the most prominent non-public university on Long Island. In 1935, Nassau College – Hofstra Memorial of New York University was established at Hofstra as an extension of New York University (NYU). The original name of the institution was Hofstra. In 1939, it established itself as the independent Hofstra College, and in 1963, it was granted university status. Hofstra University is home to ten different schools, the most notable of which are the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and the Deane School of Law. Over the years, the university has played host to a number of important presidential conferences as well as a number of presidential debates in the United States.

ACCOMODATION
Suffolk Hall: A six-story complex with suite-style living for 230 students. Each suite has 4 or 5 bedrooms with a semi-private bathroom, and some suites have a common lounge.
North Residential Complex (NRC): The largest residence hall complex on campus, with three courtyards and 14 two-story houses. Each house accommodates 55-65 residents in suite-style living arrangements, including:
4-person suites: Two double rooms with a shared lounge and bathroom.
5-person suites: Two double rooms, one single room, with a shared bathroom and no lounge.
3-person suites: One double room and one single room with a shared lounge and bathroom.
2-person suites: Two "Super Singles" with a shared lounge and bathroom.
Triple rooms with a shared bathroom and no lounge.
