ABOUT UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY
Logan, Utah is home to Utah State University, also known as USU or Utah State. This university is a public land-grant research institution. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities has granted the institution's accreditation. USU is the biggest public residential campus in Utah, with almost 20,000 students living on or in close proximity to the campus. As of the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester, there were a total of 27,426 students enrolled, with 24,255 students enrolled in the undergraduate programme and 3,171 students enrolled in the graduate programme. With a total of 23 percent of the student population being comprised of students from other states, this university has the largest percentage of students from other states than any other public university in Utah. USU was established in 1888 as Utah's land-grant college. The university has since placed a primary emphasis on the fields of science, agriculture, engineering, domestic arts, military science, and mechanic arts. The institution provides courses in a variety of disciplines, including the liberal arts, engineering, business, economics, the natural resource sciences, and elementary and secondary education programmes that are ranked highly on a national scale. It provides graduate-level education in the disciplines of humanities, social sciences, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). It wasn't until 1957 that it was given its current name. The university is categorised as a "R1: Doctoral University – Very high research activity," according to the Carnegie Classification. Seven Rhodes Scholars, one Nobel Prize winner, one MacArthur Fellows Program entrant, four holders of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship, and 34 recipients of the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship are linked with Utah State University. The University of Southern Utah is comprised of nine colleges and now confers 159 bachelor's degrees, 83 master's degrees, and 41 doctoral degrees. The primary campus for Utah State University is located in Logan, although there are also campuses in Brigham City, Tooele, and the Uintah Basin, in addition to 28 other locations across the state. The College of Eastern Utah, located in Price, Utah, became a part of the USU system in 2010, at which point it was given the name Utah State University College of Eastern Utah (USU Eastern). More than 20 centres for distant education are run by USU around the state of Utah. 25 percent of the students enrolled are attending one of the university's regional campuses, USU Eastern, or one of its distance education centres. There are 163,000 USU graduates living in all 50 states and 114 other countries. The Utah State Aggies are the aggregate moniker given to USU's athletic programmes, all of which participate in Division I of the NCAA. They compete in the Mountain West Conference as an affiliated team.
