Formerly known as Brandman University, the institution now known as University of Massachusetts Global (UMass Global) is a private, nonprofit university that spans 25 locations in the states of California and Washington in addition to a virtual campus. More than ninety different degree programmes, certificate programmes, credentialing programmes, and professional programmes are available to working adults from the university. Within the Chapman University system, Brandman University operated as an independent and regionally accredited institution. Brandman University severed its ties with the Chapman University system in September 2021 and established a new affiliation with the University of Massachusetts, known as UMass Global. The WASC Senior College and University Commission has confirmed that UMass Global has maintained its regional accreditation for another year. The position of chancellor at the university has been given to Gary Brahm.
