ABOUT CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY
Clark Atlanta University, also known simply as Clark Atlanta, is a historically black, private, Methodist institution of higher education located in Atlanta, Georgia. The historically black college or university known as Clark Atlanta was the first institution of its kind to be established in the southern region of the United States. Atlanta University was established on September 19, 1865; in 1988, it merged with Clark College, which had been established in 1869, to form what is now known as Clark Atlanta University. It is categorised as an R2 university, which stands for "Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity.
