Binghamton Institution, often known as SUNY Binghamton, is a public research university that has campuses located in the cities of Binghamton, Vestal, and Johnson City in the state of New York. It is a part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and is considered to be one of the four university centres. The institution will have 18,128 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled by the fall semester of 2020. The percentage of students who graduate after four years is 72 percent. Since its founding in 1946, the institution has undergone significant change, expanding from a modest liberal arts college into a sizable research university. The Bearcats are the name of Binghamton University's athletic teams, and they compete in the highest level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) (NCAA). The America East Conference is the league that the Bearcats compete in.
