ABOUT FORT HAYS STATE UNIVERSITY
Hays, Kansas, is the location of the United States' Fort Hays State Institution (FHSU), which is a public university. With a total enrolment of around 15,100 students, it has a total enrollment that places it in the fourth place among the six state institutions that are overseen by the Kansas Board of Regents. FHSU is comprised of five colleges: the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; the College of Business and Entrepreneurship; the College of Education; the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences; and the College of Science, Technology, and Mathematics. Collectively, these colleges house 31 departments and provide more than 60 undergraduate academic majors in addition to 20 graduate academic majors. Students at FHSU have the opportunity to earn associate's degrees in fields such as office technology and radiologic technology; complete preprofessional coursework at FHSU before transferring to a medical or law school; earn bachelor's and master's degrees; and, in certain subject areas, earn specialist's degrees. In 1999, the Department of Continuing Education and Learning Technology at FHSU morphed into what is now known as the "Virtual College," which is another division of the university that confers degrees.
