ABOUT PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY ERIE, THE BEHREND COLLEGE
Erie, Pennsylvania is home to Penn State Behrend (PSB), a campus that is part of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and belongs to the Pennsylvania State University. PSB is a university with a four-year curriculum that offers a total of five academic programmes to its more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. These include the Schools of Business, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, and the Nursing Program. PSB also provides opportunities for continuing education and programmes that do not lead to a degree in addition to the bachelor's and master's degrees that are available in certain programmes. The Pennsylvania State College branch that would later become PSB was established in 1948. In 1959, Pennsylvania State University at Bethany was accepted into the newly formed Pennsylvania State University system as a campus. In 1973, PSB started granting bachelor's degrees to students.
