ABOUT PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY
PSU is an Oregon public research university. It was formed in 1946 for World War II veterans. It became a four-year college and a university in 1969. It's Oregon's sole urban public university. Trustees run it. "R2: Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity" describes PSU. Portland State has seven colleges and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in 123 subjects. Portland State's schools include School of Social Work, College of Education, College of Urban and Public Affairs, College of the Arts, the School of Business Administration, and Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science. Portland State's athletic teams wear green and white. The Big Sky Conference is NCAA Division I.
