Deakin & Lancaster Open UK-Australia Campus in Indonesia

• Deakin University together with Lancaster University established DLI the Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia campus in Bandung West Java as the initial collaborative British-Australian educational institution in Indonesia. On February 26 2025 the campus began operations formally and it will accept its first student group in September 2025. 

• Students at DLI can access dual business and information technology degrees through its campus that lies one hour away from Jakarta by high-speed rail system. During their four-year program students can receive individual qualifications from Deakin University together with Lancaster University. 

• As the first rector of DLI Greg Barton emphasized that the partnership delivers quality international education that students can genuinely access. According to him the Bandung location marries British and Australian academic methods to deliver superior educational training in Indonesia. 

• University leaders identified this partnership achievement as an important step. The Deakin University vice-chancellor Iain Martin and Lancaster University vice-chancellor Andy Schofield emphasized that their partnership would provide world-class academic learning opportunities to students. 

• Official recognition has come to this initiative from public government officials. The British Ambassador to Indonesia Dominic Jermey declared that the UK institution takes pride in supporting the DLI project because it demonstrates improved UK-Indonesia initiatives in higher education research and innovation. The partnership serves Indonesia's strategic approach to education-based human capital development according to Gita Kamath during her position as Australian Chargé d’Affaires to Indonesia. 

• This cooperative initiative expands educational opportunities for students in Indonesia as it establishes innovative international academic relations that develop global readiness and multicultural skills for graduates.
