Singapore eases PR rules for international students
What the New PR Guidelines Mean for International Students in Singapore
Singapore eases PR rules for international students
- Singapore has recently simplified its rules for obtaining permanent residency (PR) for foreign students, making it easier for those pursuing education in the nation.
- Under the updated guidelines, students are now able to apply for PR after they have passed a national exam, such as the PSLE or GCE 'N', 'O', or 'A' levels.
- Students participating in combined programs like the International Baccalaureate (IB) or the NUS High School Diploma are also eligible. This modification removes the old rule that required students to wait a minimum of two years after completing their courses before applying for PR.
- Moreover, the rules for the Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) have been broadened to include male guardians, a step taken to enhance support for international students and their families.
