Odisha Announces Summer Vacation For Schools As Mercury Soars To 44.6 Degree Celsius:
Odisha witnessed scorching heatwaves and hence the state government has decided to announce summer vacation till April 25. Odisha continued to have furnace-like weather as high as heatwave conditions up to 44.6 degrees Celsius at Baripada town in Mayurbhanj. This decision made by the state government applies to all government-run, government-aided aided, and private institutions. The Nuapada town in western Odisha was found to be the second hottest place in the state, observing a temperature of 44 degrees celsius.
According to reports, 43 degrees Celsius and above was observed in 9 places of the state during the day. Also, searing heat temperatures of 40 degrees celsius and above were registered in 21 other places as well. The government has also decided to keep classes between the timing of 6.30-10.30 am in schools from April 22-24.
