UK International Education Pathways: QAA Finds No Major Problems
No systemic issues in UK international pathways find QAA
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has released a report on its evaluation of international pathway programs, which help international students enroll in UK higher education. The review was prompted by media reports suggesting universities were admitting international students with lower grades than domestic students. The QAA found that while there are no systemic issues, some areas need consistency and improvement in best practice application. The report also noted differences in progression rates between international and domestic students, which may require further investigation. Universities UK (UUK) is working on updating its Fair Admissions Code of Practice to address these issues. The Russell Group and NCUK have welcomed the QAA's findings and expressed their commitment to fair admissions and academic quality.
