Students from Nepal have seen a notable rise in the number of UK visas being approved, with a significant 65% jump in the last year. This increase has propelled Nepal to rank as the UK's sixth-largest group of international students by June 2024. Despite a general drop in the issuance of visas to international students worldwide, the preference for the UK among Nepalese students for pursuing their higher education has only grown. By the end of June 2024, around 17,207 visas were issued to Nepalese students, marking a significant 63% increase from the year before. This development highlights the growing attraction of the UK for higher education among Nepalese students, motivated by the quality of education, variety of programs, and opportunities for post-study employment. This dramatic increase in visa approvals points to the UK's growing allure as a choice for higher education among Nepalese students, even as other nations are experiencing either no change or a decrease in the number of international students.
