Loughborough and MIT join forces on new master’s program
A UK university has joined MIT’s SCALE Network, which operates education programs in various countries, including Colombia, Luxembourg, Spain, and China. The partnership includes a flagship MSc program in supply chain management, allowing students to study at MIT and Loughborough University. Graduates will receive an MIT certificate and a Loughborough degree. The UK Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Centre, part of the SCALE Network, will focus on research and industry collaboration, addressing real-world supply chain challenges. The center aims to develop the next generation of supply chain talent, emphasizing the UK's need for efficient management. Each existing SCALE Network center offers its graduate program, contributing to a comprehensive curriculum with MIT's involvement. Loughborough Business School's leadership expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the opportunity for students to engage with MIT's faculty and research. Yossi Sheffi, director of MIT's Center for Transportation and Logistics, welcomed the UK institution, citing its research capabilities and commitment to supply chain innovation as critical factors in its value to the network.
