Kerala schools to re-engage retired educators to boost academic standards

The government of Kerala has declared intentions to bring back retired educators to boost the quality of education and tackle the issue of not having enough teachers. This effort will make use of the knowledge and experience of these retired teachers to guide and support new teachers, thereby directly impacting classroom instruction. The goal is to bridge the gaps in subjects such as math, science, and languages, especially in more remote regions.
Retired teachers will receive training to update their skills with modern educational practices and technologies. Schools will have the option to hire these teachers on a part-time or full-time basis, tailored to their specific requirements. The plan has been welcomed by both teachers and parents, who view it as a move towards enhancing academic quality.
