CBSE tweaks Web Applications, AI, and IT subjects to increase industry focus

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made significant adjustments to its syllabus for Web Applications, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Information Technology (IT) courses to better match the needs of the job market and improve the employability skills of students. These modifications are a part of CBSE's wider effort to incorporate skill-based learning, in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The updated syllabus places a strong emphasis on practical learning and interactive activities, allocating 70% of the time to hands-on tasks and 30% to theoretical studies. This strategy is designed to provide students with the essential skills needed to succeed in the fast-changing world of technology.
For younger learners, CBSE is starting AI and coding classes from Classes 6 to 8, with a focus on computational thinking and problem-solving abilities. The coding program, developed in partnership with Microsoft, ensures a high standard of education and prepares students for careers in AI, machine learning, and data science. These adjustments are anticipated to better equip students for the challenges of today's industries, offering them a solid base in crucial technological skills and increasing their competitiveness in the employment sector.
